Wilderness Living skills are not new to Scandinavia; and it is no coincidence that today the best bushcraft tools and clothing are still made there!
Bushcraft skills to the Swedish woodsman are viewed as being almost every day and common place for they are the living skills our ancestors and forebears as well as the skills many modern Bushcraft personalities and schools base their own know how upon, due for the larger part, to the fact this knowledge has been in constant uninterrupted use since the dawn of time when fur clad clans first crossed the frozen wastes of the ice age glaciers.
More importantly to us – these skills are still pertinent to the Northern European climate today and such knowledge which enabled our own ancestors and forebears to make fire, find shelter, water and food in an often unfriendly world can be utilised in the same way by the modern traveller, hunter, fisherman or bushcrafter.
Our range of skills and courses, cover not only bushcraft but also survival – culminating in the widely acclaimed WEISS course, which allows you to work towards earning the much coveted WEISS badge. The Wilderness Experience International Survival School, established in 1963 has been teaching wilderness living skills for over 40 years and proudly boosts an unsurpassed depth of knowledge and instructional expertise.
All our courses, though boasting an international cliental, are taught in English by a combination of Swedish and British instructors who together enjoy over 80 years of outdoors living and bushcraft experience!!
